Splishing and splashing

This past weekend was fun.  It was.  Truly fun.  Ok, I'm writing this as if it was last weekend, but now it's actually been two weekends ago.  So let's pretend.

We all needed it.  The kids were looking forward to living in a hotel for two days, and about going to a waterpark.  We got a chance to get out a little early on Friday instead of waiting until Saturday morning, which was so nice.  So right after school, we headed out to Dane and the kids immediately enjoyed tormenting...I mean loving Anu.

We ate fish fries and the kids had grilled cheese.  Lily needed an EXTREME amount of coaxing though, because Friday afternoon, we found Lily's very first WIGGLY TOOTH!!!  And for as much excitement that has been had around when she will get loose teeth, this girl shutdown all positive conversations about teeth for the remainder of life as we know it.

The next morning, we had a grandpa breakfast, packed up and headed to the waterpark.  Thanks to dad, we got an early check in and a great room with a separate bedroom for the kids with a door.  Excellent idea, dad.  Within minutes of lunch, the kids were in swim gear and ready to run down the long halls, on the hunt for water.  I brought my good camera, but didn't pull it out much since I was way too scared to leave it unattended in the waterpark or carry it with me and risk it getting soaked.  So iPhone pics is what we get!

This little girl let her super cape (queen cape) go to her head.  She walked around like she owned the place while she wore it!

Lily was a ROCKSTAR!  I have to say this.  Over and over.  Cause even now, I can hardly believe it.  She didn't bat an eyelash at ANYTHING.  No ride was too big or too scary or too anything for her.  She was into all of it and ready to tackle whatever was next.  She went on slides alone, proudly paddling/swimming her way to the stairs at the bottom where one of us was waiting for her.  She raced on the 2 slides that were next to each other for just that purpose.  Over and over.  She wasn't afraid of a single thing and wanted to try it all.  She proudly and strongly tackled the lily pads that she's finally old enough to reach the ropes on top for.  She was amazing.  (as always!)

Connor was equally as amazing, but more guarded and unsure of certain things.  The first day, he stuck to the things that made him the most comfortable.  He still refuses to put himself in those play structures that have buckets of water that randomly dump and sprayers of water everywhere.  Like if you want to see an epic freakout, just put him in one of those things.  He is NOT into it.  At all.  But after a while, when bribed with quarters for the arcade and a handful of treats, he'll try the bigger slides.  Haha.

Both kids were happy as can be and had just an amazing time!  We had meals out and pizza ordered in.  My dad and Wowo let me run off to the outlets for an hour.  We spoiled kids with ice cream and cupcakes and dessert and candy and the gameroom.  Good times.

I love this picture not because it's a good picture, but because just look at Lily and Wowo.  Lily's shoulders are curled and she's got those hands up tight and looking at Wowo telling her the most ahhhh-mazing story.  She's so intense here and enjoying time with her special grandmother.  They both are soooo happy here with one another.

This little guy gets right to work and works so hard.  He's great at staying in the lines and completing whatever task he's working on.  Such a great quality to have.

And then within minutes of leaving the Dells..this is what happened.  Two tired kiddos.  So cute.
