This is what happened that day!
Miss Lily lost her FIRST tooth!!
It had been wiggly for a while..I first noticed it about 3 weeks earlier while wrestling around with her at my Dad and Barbara's house. We have spent a lot of time wishing for a wiggly tooth, but when she finally had one...she wanted nothing to do with it. She didn't want to show it, use it to eat or even talk about it. That faded some, but generally speaking she did not want to talk about the wiggly tooth.
Then it started to really loosen up. I'm sure forgetting about it while eating helped that along. And one day while I was traveling for work and Lily was with daddy..I got a facetime call showing the tooth hanging on by a thread and a terrified little girl. I gave loads of support and promised that I'd be home that night to see the tooth. I bribed with talk of the Tooth Fairy, bags of candy and plenty of momma encouragement..and after a while, she agreed to have dad pull the tooth out. (At this point, it was holding on so minimally, it was just a matter of taking it out of her mouth..not really pulling!)
And then she was beaming! Proud Lily!
Grandma Betty and Grandpa Jeff tucked her into bed that night and the tooth was tucked into her special tooth pillow (given to her by her Auntie Lissa on her baptism day) on the kitchen counter. Yes, the kitchen counter.
The sweet bird was scared of the special tooth fairy coming into her room while she was sleeping and asked Grandma to leave it in the kitchen instead. But she was still pretty nervous...so Grandpa Jeff sat down in her chair and rocked quietly while she laid in bed and drifted off to sleep. He stayed there the whole time, until he knew she was asleep. A special memory for both of them, I'm sure.
And when I got home (after some flight delays), I saw that the Fairy hadn't arrived yet. But when we all woke up, this is what I saw outside of Lily's door...
Looks like the Tooth Fairy wanted to sure that miss Lily didn't miss out on her special earnings!
And here we are..on April 30th, with another wiggly tooth right next door to the first one!
Grow, Lily, Grow!...
...but not too fast, ok Sweetie?!
Wow another is loose! Yikes. I can't remember loosing my first tooth, and I can't remember being scared or weirded out by it, and I don't remember the tooth fairy coming in my room, weird, congrats lb. u are cute toothless. Rr
