LC in Disney

Dearest LC,

You are having an amazing time. You are looking pink in the cheeks, you're swimming, meeting princesses and pals from Toy Story, and making unbelievable memories with your dad, grandparents and cousins.

But before Disney, you said goodbye to momma. You knew without any doubt that Id miss your smiles, laughs, rivalries, and every single thing about you that makes you both so YOU!

A few nights before you left, Lily, i snuggled you in bed a little before you fell asleep. I started to tear up. And you knew. You knew what momma needed. You wrapped your arm around my head and patted my cheek with your little Lily hand, saying "it's ok momma. You can cry. Sometimes when I have tears, I wipe them on my special blankie. Momma, here you go (handing me a section of her beloved blankie)...this spot is perfect for tears."  I love you Lily. Your empathy and understanding is more than most adults have. That's stuff you just have. And girl, you've got it.

Then it was the day before. Connor..you were in mismatched comfy clothes running around the house. Lily, you were coloring.  I pulled out some art supplies and settled at the kitchen table to make you both a special card to open midweek while you were gone to remind you of me missing you and loving you all the way from wisconsin! Both of you loved this idea! And you both set out to make me some cards and pictures to stuff in envelopes to open once you were gone.

I love them!!  Thank you both!

Soon enough, it was time to be on your way and time to say goodbye for the longest stretch we've gone without being around one another. Connor, you gave me kisses over and over, knowing Id need them later in the week. Hugs too. Lily, you looked in my eyes and said Monday, then kissed me. Tuesday!  Another kiss. Wednesday. Thursday. Friday. Saturday. Kiss. Kiss. Kiss. Kiss then you repeated it with hugs. You were excited to go. But you didn't rush our goodbye. Connor, before you hopped in the car, you turned back one more time and took my hand. You opened up my balled up fingers and kissed my palm. You closed it and hopped into the car. Your goodbyes were perfect. And so special. The window was rolled down. You undoubtedly saw me hurting some. "Momma!! When I see Snow White, I'll take a picture and I'll tell her you say hi!" (Snow White is my favorite princess.). And you both waves and said goodbye a hundred more times.

I love you both. It makes me sooo happy and smiley knowing you're having such a special adventure.

I can't wait to hear alllllllllll about it. I figure I'll be hearing your amazing stories for weeks and weeks and I can't wait!!

Here are some pictures that daddy sent me:

And guess what? I have good family and friends checking on me, too!  Auntie Raina took pictures of you a week before you left to send me randomly through the week to perk me up. Deanna asked me to join them for dinner. Grandma betty checks in everyday. Kate went out on a shopping/st Patrick's day date with me. I'm thankful.

Love your guts like crazy!!!!  Can't wait to squeeze you and hear all the stories and fun as they slowly slide out in the coming weeks and months!

Love you the mostest!
